Demelza South East London hosts second festive football visit

Five people stand in front of a building with a 'demelza extraordinary care for extraordinary children' sign, decorated with bee-themed ornaments and string lights.

Football fans at Demelza South East London enjoyed their second festive visit of the season.

Members of the Millwall Lionesses visited our hospice in Wensley Close, Eltham, on Monday (23 December).

The players presented the care team with some gifts for the children.

They also had a tour of the site and spoke to staff about the support Demelza offers to children with serious or life-limiting conditions and their families.

Millwall Lionesses Centre-back, Jordan Butler, said on X afterwards: “The most rewarding visit I have done to date.

“I walked away from this visit with the utmost respect for all the amazing work those at Demelza do. It is nothing short of amazing.”

Regional Fundraising Manager Katie Hook said: “We were happy to welcome the Lionesses to Demelza South East London – it was a really great visit.

“We’re so grateful for people taking the time to come and see our children and families at this time of year and for the generous gifts they have donated.”
