Demelza receives Investors in Diversity Award

Demelza has received a Silver Award from Investors in Diversity to recognise the organisation's work to improve equality, diversity and inclusion.

The award acknowledges Demelza’s commitment to FREDIE (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement).

As part of Demelza’s FREDIE work, a survey was carried out and focus group sessions took place for staff to provide feedback. The results of these will help senior management identify themes and shape actions and areas of focus for Demelza moving forward.

FREDIE group meetings will take place during the year with the aim of bringing everyone together and further embedding the FREDIE principles across the organisation.

To receive the accreditation, Demelza was put forward along with more than 150 other organisations to have their survey results considered to provide a ranking score in the Top 100 Inclusive Employers Index. Demelza ranked at number 60 in the Investors in Diversity List.

CEO Lavinia Jarrett said: “We are delighted to achieve this accreditation and very proud that our staff have been so involved in this journey.

“It’s thanks to all the people that work and volunteer here that we have come so far.”
