Dean of Southwark visits Demelza South East London

Seven people stand in front of a building with a 'demelza extraordinary care for extraordinary children' sign and bee decorations hanging from the roof.

Demelza South East London welcomed Dr Mark Oakley, Dean of Southwark, for a tour and festive visit ahead of the annual Santa’s Grotto for supported families.

Dr Mark Oakley visited our hospice in Eltham on Friday, where he met with CEO Lavinia Jarrett, Deputy Director of Nursing Dave Winch and members of the care team.

He was given a tour of the site and heard about the range of services offered to children with serious or life-limiting conditions across seven London boroughs.

Due to the timing of the visit, he also witnessed staff preparing for the annual Santa’s Grotto which will take place at the end of this week. More than 100 children and their siblings who are supported by Demelza will be visiting the fully accessible grotto.

Lavinia said: “I was delighted to welcome Mark to see our services for himself at our hospice in Eltham."
